GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS AND THIRD PARTY CERTIFICATIONS
WHAT IS A GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION?
Buildings must comply with the building code. The building code is the minimum quality a building must meet.
To drive the building industry toward more sustainable construction practices, some third party organizations have created their own set of requirements that are in addition to the building code to ensure a building uses less energy, less water or other sustainable goals.
CERTIFIED MEANS HIGHER QUALITY
Every green building certification has design processes, construction requirements, onsite verification and testing far above the code.
When a home has a third party certification it is by definition a higher quality home.
